STATUA DI PTAH SOKAR OSIRIDE Periodo Tardo, 664-332 a.C. Statua in legno stuccato policromo raffigurante il dio Ptah-Sokar-Osiride, figura stante e mummiforme su uno zoccolo di legno rettangolare, indossa la parrucca liscia tripartita dipinta in blu e la falsa barba, il collare Usek composto da cinque giri di perle e amuleti, il volto è regolare con occhi grandi sottolineati dal bistro, naso diritto, piccola bocca e zigomi lievemente sporgenti. Colonna centrale di iscrizione geroglifica sia anteriore che posteriore in gran parte evanide. Policromia evanide, scheggiature, ridipinture. La figura sincretistica di Ptah-Sokar-Osiride appare alla fine del Nuovo Regno e diventa un oggetto comune nelle sepolture sino al periodo romano. Rappresentava l’unione di tre divinità classiche del pantheon egizio adorate e celebrate a Menfi: Ptah, Sokaris e Osiride. Sokaris era un dio menfita dei morti ma era anche patrono degli artigiani che lavoravano alla costruzione delle necropoli, dal Medio Regno viene associato a Ptah, anch’esso divinità tutelare di artigiani e scribi, Ptah-Sokar assume la funzione di protezione di soglie e passaggi e del loro potere di creare la vita. Dal Nuovo Regno fu assimilato anche ad Osiride divenendo una divinità composita che rappresentava i tre aspetti dell’universo: creazione, stabilità e morte. This funeral deity is the syncretistic association of three different gods: Sokaris was the Memphite god of the dead, but he was also the patron of the workers who built the necropolis and the craftsmen who made tomb artefacts and of those who made ritual objects and substances used in mummification. From the Middle Kingdom he was merged with Ptah. Ptah-Sokar represented the soil and its power to create life. As Ptah was considered to be the patron of artisans, Sokar became specifically the patron of goldsmiths. Soon after, Sokar became associated with Osiris as the composite deity, Ptah-Sokar-Osiris.
