Elegant pastel painting on paper, framed in a lacquered and gilded wooden frame, protected by glass. Inspired in its pose by a famous painting by the Spanish painter Murillo (1618-1682), it depicts a girl showing flowers on her shawl, also recalling an allegory of spring. The female figure is represented in the foreground, frontally, sitting on the base of a building of which only the details can be glimpsed in the background. The girl has a playful and happy look, turned directly towards the viewer. She is dressed in oriental style, with her head covered and adorned with flowers, and wears a finely crafted dress. This is a work appreciable for its technique and stylistic rendering, in details and particulars, capable of giving a touch of elegance and antiquity to any environment. Italian manufacture of the mid-19th century. Measurements: H x W x D overall 87 x 73 x 4.5cm; H x W artwork only 65 x 50cm
