(QRIN274) The ancient paintings category is an oil painting on wood from the 19th century, 19th century. It depicts an interior scene with a woman descending a staircase in a domestic room where there is a cat and a carpenter's table. The antique painting is signed Leleux Armand, a French painter. Leleux Armand Hubert Simon (1818-1895), was born in Paris and was a pupil of Ingres with whom he travels to Rome. He exhibits at the "Salon De Paris" where he receives many medals in 1844, 1847, 1848 and in 1859. He stays in Germany and Switzerland where he participates in all the exhibitions of these countries.
