Splendid work by Giuseppe Canella, one of the greatest European landscape painters of the early nineteenth century. Born in 1788 in Verona, he stayed first in Venice, then in the Netherlands, making his debut in 1818 in Brera. He also traveled in Spain and France, staying in Paris for about ten years. He returned to Milan in 1832, specializing in city views and rivaling Migliara. Splendid canvas executed during the artist's French stay. Expertise by Prof. Luciano Anelli
