Important work by the Lombard painter Enrico Bartezago (1820 - 1905).The romantic scene of girls with a cow at the fountain emanates a great sense of serenity and calm. The brushstroke is sure and of great freshness. The composition is balanced.
In the back we see the village with the church. The texts say that he painted in Val Sesia. This could be the church of Alagna. The play of light is remarkable.

Oil on canvas 85 x 130 cm, with a newer frame but one that accompanies it very well 100 x 149 cm. Signed lower right.
