Panel painting from the second half of the 1800s
Belgian painter, signed and dated.
The profession of the mouse hunter has almost disappeared.
In ancient times, however, he had his own value above all in the fight against diseases and pestilences.
He was almost always accompanied by his faithful animal e
he wandered around the big cities in search of rodents and then sold their skins and meats.
The painting is an oil on panel signed and dated 1873 in the lower right corner
by master Jan Van De Kerkove (1822-1881).
In good condition but in need of minor adjustments.
The gilded frame is coeval and also in good condition.
The measurements of the only painting are 30 cm in height and 20 cm in width
