Dr. Franco Fustinoni while prescribing a cure.
Portrait of Dr. Franco Fustinoni prescribing a treatment based on medicinal plants. Work by Antonio Brighenti (Clusone 1810-93) datable around 1840, made in oil on canvas measuring 67 x 58 cm. Antonio Brighenti carried out his entire career as a painter in his native Clusone (Bergamo), in contact with the rich artistic tradition Bergamo. Trained under the direction of Giuseppe Diotti at the Carrara Academy in Bergamo, where he was a fellow student of Piccio, Trécourt, Coghetti etc., Brighenti was active in all the pictorial genres required by the lively local client, including the ecclesiastical one, but he is in the portrait that gave the best of his creative ability.
