"Portrait of a child with a bird" and "Portrait of a mature woman with a book in her hand", a pair of oil paintings on paper applied to canvas, datable to the 40s / 50s of the nineteenth century. The clothing of the child is typical of the fashion for boys among the wealthy classes of the mid-nineteenth century, while that of the woman is a traditional costume typical of Valtellina or Valchiavenna, which, together with the type of frames, helps to locate the geographical origin right here of the two operettas.
