Romantic portrait, work of an Italian artist close to Pietro Benvenuti (1769 – 1844).
The boy appears to be 12/13 years old, and already presents himself in the clothes of a young romantic, unkempt hair with mandatory curls, direct attitude, and a gaze that foreshadows a free and independent individuality.
Everything suggests a dating in the early 1800s.
Oil on canvas, 33 x 26 cm, on original frame.
Very good condition, with minimal restorations in marginal areas.
