Pietro Barucci (Rome, April 20, 1845 – Rome, February 23, 1917) Born in Rome in 1845, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and was a student of Achille Vertunni. In 1878 he was awarded a prize for one of his landscapes at the same academy. A fine landscape painter, his main subject was the daily life of the Roman countryside. Among his numerous works, Lake in the Apennines was exhibited in Chicago in 1893, while Lagoon of Venice and Region of the North Pole were exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants in Paris in 1907. Venice measures 110 cm wide, 62 cm high, frame measures 120 x 70.
