Venice, animated scene on the Grand Canal Alessandro Milesi (Venice 1856-1945) Signed and dated 1897 Oil on canvas Beautiful coeval guilloché frame. Canvas cm. 98 x 46 frame 126 x 74 Excellent condition. Biogrrafia: Trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice from 1869 to 1874 with Napoleone Nani, he followed him to Verona, returning to the lagoon city in 1876. In 1881 he participated in the National Exhibition of Milan with "Il nonno offers" and "Venditrice di pumpkin", and in the National Artistic Museum of Venice in 1887, establishing himself as a painter of Venetian life, prosecutor of Giacomo Favretto's lesson but always attentive to the renewal of Venetian art
