17th century Roman oval frame in gilded lime wood
Elegant small Roman oval frame, made in the second half of the 17th century, hand-carved from a single block of lime wood and embellished with original gold leaf gilding. The profile features rich work with plant and phytomorphic motifs, with curls and volutes typical of Roman production of the Baroque period. The upper part is characterized by a shaped opening with broken movement, while the lower edge develops into a refined carved cartouche, with openwork and small decorative ribs that are still clearly legible. The inside of the oval is adorned with a slight engraved motif, completing the refinement of the piece.
