Chiseled Bronze Baroque Frame – 19th Century Splendid oval bronze frame finely chiseled, dating back to the second half of the 19th century, made in the Baroque style with strong Rococo influences. The casting work and attention to detail testify to the excellent craftsmanship of the period. The frame is embellished with a rich, all-round decoration: two winged mythological figures sit on the upper sides, while a grotesque mask with horns, typical of Baroque iconography, dominates the lower part. Dense floral motifs, volutes and cartouches complete the structure, making it a magnificent example of Baroque ornamentation. The object was probably created as a frame for a mirror or portrait and still retains a suggestive patina of time that enhances the depth and nobility of the reliefs.
