Pair of important carved and gessoed wooden oval frames, made as dead stock in the 1980s. They feature rich decoration with volutes and rocaille motifs, with the original gesso preparation, designed for possible gilding or colored finish. The ovals are structurally sound, with natural gesso losses due to age, and are suitable for both restoration and being left in their fascinating original patina.
