Venetian mirror from the second half of the 19th century, entirely hand-carved, polychrome lacquered, and water gilded. The frame is an authentic masterpiece of craftsmanship, with a decoration that simulates openwork lace, where the sculpted leaves – animated by continuous movement – intertwine and chase each other along the profile. The surface presents warm and pasty tones, likely obtained with pigments and animal glues according to traditional recipes. The colors range from a delicate light blue, an earthy pink, and golden touches. The work probably originated as a frame for a painting and was only later fitted with a mirror. The frame has no set orientation, so it can be used vertically or horizontally, or used again as a frame for a canvas. The frame is in good condition, with some small missing pieces and one slightly damaged corner. Total dimensions: approximately 60 × 70 cm Internal light: 39 × 48.5 cm ??
