Important carved and gilded wooden mirror
Rome, Louis XIV period
The multi-level carving features a rebate decorated with leaves, with a smooth groove counter-rebate, and a twisted ribbon border followed by a gouge ending with open leaf claws. The rich crest, sculpted with foliate volutes, falls on the sides with plant-based carvings.
Contemporary mercury mirror.
