The headboard consists of a colonnade decoration, with an Ionic capital, which is aligned along a thick crosspiece and supports, as a kind of architrave, a crosspiece of the same dimensions. On the sides, two turned uprights, resting on metal tips with small wheels, rise up and end in an elegant pine cone. The footboard echoes the headboard in all its decorations and proportions, differing only in height. The sides, of considerable section, are very simple and have only one facet along the upper profile. The very elegant bed takes up architectural elements from the classical period, a clear sign of the presence of the Empire style. In the essence used, cherry wood, and in the sobriety of the lines, with the total absence of gilding, bronzes and anything else, however, it betrays the simpler and more sober taste of the period following the Napoleonic one.
