Lombard Louis XVI inlaid nightstand Beautiful Lombard nightstand dating back to the end of the 18th century, in full Louis XVI style. This piece of furniture stands out for its elegant simplicity of lines, typical of the period, enriched by refined inlaid work that enhances its preciousness. Materials and Inlays: Made of walnut wood, with a predominance of walnut veneers and other wood essences that create a warm and vibrant chromatic contrast. The front has a door finely inlaid with geometric motifs and elaborate thread in bois de rose, boxwood and charcoal stucco, which frames a central panel. An inlay along the edges of the front panel and on the upper surface with a stylized "Greek" wave motif, characteristic of Lombard cabinet making of the time. The sides of the nightstand are also embellished with an inlaid frame, although with a more linear pattern. Structure and Lines: The nightstand has a parallelepiped structure with a single openable front door, which reveals a spacious interior with a shelf. The upper surface is also inlaid with the same decorative motif as on the door and is foldable. The legs, tapered and truncated pyramid-shaped, are a distinctive element of the Louis XVI style, giving lightness and elegance to the whole. The brass knob is original from the period.
