Elegant pair of small roll-top secretaires in cherry wood, of Venetian manufacture, probably from Vicenza, datable to the very early years of the 19th century. The two pieces of furniture have simple lines and harmonious proportions, with high legs with a square section that slenderize the structure and confer a balance between solidity and lightness, typical of the Vicenza production of the period of transition between the neoclassical taste and the Empire style. The roll-top, with smooth movement, conceals an internal compartment with a drawer and support surface, while the lower part offers additional storage space. The construction is accurate and entirely in solid cherry wood, with beautiful warm veins and shellac finish that enhances the brightness of the surface. The specimens are in excellent condition, with light traces of use and minimal signs of the time consistent with age. They are solid, functional and ready to furnish. Technical data Period: early 19th century Area of origin: Veneto, probably Vicenza Material: solid cherry wood Measures: height 90 cm - width 50 cm - depth 40 cm Condition: excellent, with slight signs of use Restorations: none relevant; furniture ready for use For further information, photographs or technical details, please do not hesitate to contact us.
