Refined Genoese Cabinet/Nightstand (Late Eighteenth Century) Three-drawer cabinet dating back to the late 18th century and attributable to Genoese cabinet making. Precious Details and Materials Wood Essences: The structure is entirely veneered using noble woods: deep and veined Rosewood for the main fields, skillfully combined to create a lively herringbone pattern and chromatic contrasts typical of Genoese furniture of the era. Bois de Rose (lighter and pinker rosewood) was used for the fine borders and reserves. Style and Design: The line is sober and elegant, typically neoclassical, with a compact body lightened by tapered and slender legs. Inlays and Veneering: The surface of the drawers and top is framed by rectangular reserves with inlaid borders, which highlight the beautiful and complex grain of the rosewood. The ability to combine the grain and the opposite grain of the fiber creates a dynamic play of converging lights and colors. Finishes: The three drawers are equipped with brass knobs with a classic design. The sides of the cabinet reflect the same elegant framing as the front. Conditions: The cabinet is in good original condition for its age, with a splendid patina that attests to its age and history with shellac polishing. Dimensions: Height: 80 cm; Width: 61 cm; Depth: 41 cm
