"Bridge" bookcase in solid walnut – Veneto, early decades of the 19th century
Important Venetian bookcase from the early decades of the 19th century, made entirely of solid walnut. The structure, solid and well-proportioned, stands out for its particular "bridge" configuration, with an elegant central arch framed by two glazed side sections. The architecture of the furniture, balanced and harmonious, is embellished with sober neoclassical lines and refined construction details, visible both in the wood craftsmanship and in the arrangement of the compartments. The two glass side doors, punctuated by internal shelves, develop above a lower body closed by doors and drawers. The central part, lower, creates a scenic niche surmounted by a framed arch, with smooth paneling on the bottom and useful space for exhibition or decorative furniture. The warm patina of walnut, with its natural grain, helps to give the furniture an authentic and sober character.
