Set of six chairs
Item description:
A set of six walnut chairs. The group of chairs consists of front legs that are curved and saber-shaped rear legs, joined laterally by a crossbar. The seat is padded with a "linone" fabric in a lobster red tone, the backrest has a sinuous shape, centered by a crossbar with a carving in the shape of wings and a grip on the shaped upper crossbar. The curved yet austere line, the characteristic central carving, place these furnishings in the first half of the 19th century, where the characteristics of the Empire style, recently ended, are still strongly present. The simplicity that shines through, combined with the desire to highlight stability and strength, betray a rather provincial manufacture.
