Tuscan Cherry Wood Chest of Drawers, Louis XVI Period This elegant chest of drawers, of clear Tuscan manufacture and dating back to the Louis XVI period (late 18th century), is made of cherry wood, with careful veneering that enhances its grain and geometric patterns. The piece of furniture has a solid and proportionate structure, with three large front drawers that offer considerable storage capacity. Each drawer features an inlaid "Greek key" frame, composed of alternating rectangular elements in different shades of wood (ebony and boxwood), which create a pleasant chromatic contrast and a refined decorative motif. The arrangement of the cherry wood grain on the drawer fronts is in a herringbone pattern, contributing to a dynamic and sophisticated visual effect. The handles and keyhole escutcheons are in gilded bronze, circular in shape, with relief decorations that recall the neoclassical style typical of the Louis XVI period. Locks are present on all three drawers. The top of the chest of drawers echoes the "Greek key" inlay along the perimeter, framing a "herringbone" veneer, which highlights the natural beauty of the cherry wood. The sides of the furniture are also veneered with the same mastery, with "herringbone" grain and framed by inlays similar to those of the drawers. The feet, in the shape of a truncated pyramid, harmoniously connect to the body of the chest of drawers and are also decorated with vertical inlays that recall the same type of decoration present on the drawers and the top. This decorative uniformity testifies to the attention to detail and the stylistic coherence of the furniture. Overall, this is a piece of high Tuscan cabinet making, which combines functionality with a refined and sober aesthetic, distinctive features of the Louis XVI style, with a particular predilection for local wood essences and geometric inlays. The dimensions are: 120 x 58, height 89 cm. A regular certificate of authenticity with photo is issued. We ensure a reply to your emails within 24 hours.
