Features and Description
Splendid and elegant antique chest of drawers, an expression of the refined Italian Neoclassical taste of the late 18th century.
Structure: Compact and linear body, characterized by the configuration with only two large drawers, which gives the piece of furniture a particularly slender and airy appearance.
Veneering and Inlays: The surface is entirely veneered in blond walnut, with a rich and skillful arrangement of the grains. The panels of the drawers, sides and top are decorated with the evocative herringbone technique, framed by thin threads of boxwood in contrast.
Feet: The uprights extend into four slender truncated pyramid-shaped feet (needle-shaped), typical of the Neoclassical period, further embellished with geometric two-tone inlaid reserves.
Details: The front is adorned with four precious gilded bronze handles in a classic style, with medallions or garlands, which enhance its elegance, and elegant shield-shaped wooden escutcheons for the lock.
