Empire chest of drawers
Article description:
Furniture consisting of four drawers, one of which is smaller, with an overhanging and projecting top resembling an architrave, supported by two columns with gilded bronze capitals and bases, which in turn rest on high plinths reinforced by cornices. The top is slightly overhanging. The furniture features an architectural design typical of the Empire period; the surfaces are smooth, and the decoration consists almost entirely of the beautiful flamed cherry wood, skillfully arranged to form a genuine design on the front of the chest. The elegance achieved through the appealing proportions, the noble wood, and the sobriety of the decoration make this piece of furniture very tasteful.
The interiors are lined with green carnation paper.
