Walnut veneered chest of drawers, Piedmont, circa 1830, Charles X period. Measurements H 100 x W 127 x D 60 cm Price between 5000.00 / 8000.00 euros Item accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. This particular chest of drawers was made in Piedmont in the Charles X period, circa 1830. The wooden structure is entirely veneered in walnut wood, and the top, from the same period, is in gray Bardiglio marble. The chest of drawers has a very particular shape, with wavy sides reminiscent of the shape of a lyre. The band under the top, with a drawer in the center, is sculpted to form frames, one decorated with ovals. Below, three large drawers are shaped following the curved lines of the sides and the decoration of the uprights, sculpted in bas-relief with phytomorphic elements, flowers and cornucopias. The wavy sides rest on a rectangular base that echoes the band under the top, making the piece of furniture harmonious and balanced. Frontally, a small drawer is created on this base. The four feet have shaped and curvilinear profiles. The chest of drawers, due to its curious and particular shape, is very decorative. Its small size makes it suitable for any environment, whether it is a bedroom or a study, but also a bathroom, an entrance or corridor, or in a living room.
