Neoclassical inlaid chest of drawers from the late 18th century
Sumptuous chest of drawers veneered in walnut, embellished with fruitwood and pastille inlays, a typical technique of the Lombardy cabinet-making school. The chest of drawers features truncated pyramid legs, characteristic of the period, and a linear and elegant shape. It has three drawers, one smaller one positioned under the top, and two larger and more ergonomic drawers ideal for storing objects, opened by bronze pulls. The great refinement of this chest of drawers lies in its inlaid decoration, which is very rich and detailed, extending on the front, legs, sides and top, featuring geometric and phytomorphic motifs. It is a piece of furniture of great taste and quality, capable of furnishing any environment with class and refinement. Lombard manufacture (Lombardy, Italy), probably attributable to the school of the cabinetmaker Giuseppe Maggiolini, from the neoclassical period, around the end of the 18th century.
