Walnut wood canterano with opening top, twisted columns, Papal State, second half of the 16th century
Description
Canterano from the Papal States dating back to the second half of the 16th century. Four large framed and inlaid drawers. The last one conceals a compartment made up of five small drawers, as at the base it conceals two small ones on the sides. Feet worked with floral carvings in volutes. Handles and lock escutcheons in gilded bronze, finely worked. On the back there is the writing "Rome 1575" and the letter "P" stamped.
