Gothic strongbox, Veneto 15th century

In solid walnut, with characteristic dovetail joints clearly visible on the sides, the chest, of contained proportions, is adorned on the front with elaborate closures with a double opening mechanism. On the sides it is equipped with handles and plates with openwork rosettes with slender phytomorphic motifs of late Gothic taste as on the front. The inner face of the lid, with band hinges recessed in the wood, were adorned at the end by the openwork medallions unfortunately missing and traces remain. Furthermore, it appears soberly inlaid with geometric designs in boxwood and walnut. Inside, it has a series of listed compartments also these by light threads.
