PAINTED WALNUT CHEST, EARLY 17TH CENTURY
Elegant chest made of solid walnut wood, carved and painted. The chest has a rectangular shape, with bracket feet, an overhanging top and a molded band. The top can be opened, revealing a large space inside for storing objects. Its peculiarity lies in the pictorial decorations, which enhance its elegance, with motifs of plant intertwining on a red and yellow background, with a Renaissance flavour and appeal. It is a piece of furniture, probably used as a wardrobe or wedding chest, capable of furnishing any environment with refinement and a touch of antiquity. Emilian manufacture (Emilia-Romagna, Italy), from the Louis XIV period, around the early 17th century.
