The wavy profile and side volutes enrich the structure, while the central shell decoration, surmounted by rocaille motifs, underlines its ornamental taste typical of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. The original gilding, slightly worn by time, gives the shelf a fascinating lived-in appearance that enhances its authenticity. The support surface is lacquered in faux marble.
