Venetian walnut corner console table – late 18th / early 19th century
Elegant Venetian corner console table, made between the late 18th century and the very early years of the 19th century, in a moment of stylistic transition between the Louis XVI style and early Empire models. The piece of furniture, entirely in walnut, has a solid wood structure with a front enriched by refined "herringbone" veneer, as can be seen in the details. The line is sober and slender, with shaped legs that join in a saber shape and end in a suggestive sculpted decoration with foliate motifs culminating in a pine cone. The "suspended" solution is characteristic, which makes it particularly elegant and light in the overall vision. Excellent condition: stable and sound, it does not need restoration, but only a possible slight polishing/conservative cleaning.
