Carved Desk in Tudor Style, England, Late 19th Century
This elegant center piece with drawers arranged on both sides reveals itself as a writing desk. Made of carved walnut in the Tudor style, it was made in England at the end of the 19th century. The top has a "Moroccan" leather covering, which is also found in the front pull-out drawer's lectern. Three drawers per side are housed on both sides. The entire surface is carved in bas-relief, as is typical of the Tudor style. Like all English furniture, this piece is extremely practical and functional as well as pleasant to insert even in a modern decor.
