Napoleon III inlaid desk, mid-19th century
Beautiful and elegant center desk, with high quality inlays in walnut and rosewood, and embellished with lost-wax cast bronze decorations. The desk is distinguished by its lyre legs, joined by turned parts and decorated with floral details in gilded bronze, with legs ending in feral paws, also in gilded bronze, equipped with wheels to facilitate movement. The top has an inlaid band and a balustrade, also in gilded bronze, finely chiseled, which adds further elegance. In the band of the undertop there are three openable drawers with gilded bronze handles: two of medium size and a particular smaller one, located near the right corner, functional for pens and inkwells. It is a desk of great taste and refinement, capable of furnishing any environment with class and elegance. Italian manufacture, reminiscent of the neoclassical style of French cabinetmakers, in the Napoleon III period, around the mid-nineteenth century.
