Oval writing desk veneered in walnut and bois de rose - Italy, Louis XVI period. Refined and elegant Louis XVI oval furniture, made of walnut veneered wood with bois de rose, maple and rosewood threads. The top has an elegant geometric inlaid border that perfectly follows the oval line. The front, moved and harmonious, is articulated in a central drawer flanked by two pairs of smaller drawers, framed by refined reserve motifs and contrasting threads. The legs, high and with a truncated pyramidal section decorated with vertical threads, give lightness to the structure while maintaining a remarkable formal balance. The inside of the drawers is in poplar wood, with original locks from the period. The shellac polishing highlights the warm tone of the woods and the antique patina of time.
