SMALL VENEERED WRITING DESK - EMILIA - LOUIS XVI
Elegant Louis XVI one-drawer writing desk.
Distinctive Features:
Threads and Inlay: The top is a focal point, characterized by a boxwood and blackened wood thread that delimits the veneering arranged in a herringbone or "fan" pattern in walnut wood with warm brownish-red hues. At the center, a beautiful inlaid circular medallion stands out, depicting a floral or rosette motif in light essences.
Structure and Woods: Made of walnut wood, it features a glossy shellac finish that enhances the depth of color and quality of the wood.
The under-top band houses a single central drawer.
The drawer is embellished with an elegant brass rosette handle, with a classic petal or radial pattern, typical of the period.
Tapered Legs: The structure rests on four slender, tapered legs, which narrow downwards, giving lightness and momentum to the piece of furniture.
The upper part of the legs is slightly turned, in line with neoclassical aesthetics.
Dimensions: 82 x 45 cm, height 75 cm.
Origin: Emilian Area.
