The furniture is made of solid walnut wood decorated with elegant inlays that create reserves, frames and plays of color. The furniture is composed of two parts, a lower and an upper one. The lower part has three large drawers with handles and locks in chiseled and gilded bronze. The upper part consists of an opening compartment equipped with a small flap door (called precisely "ribalta") which, rotating on pins, can be lowered and raised according to needs. When open, it provides a support surface for writing and reveals four small drawers and two open compartments, in which to store stationery and small personal items. Externally, the flap is decorated with a pyrographic shell-shaped inlay, while on the sides, inside oval frames, two female figures with long classic dresses are inlaid. The flap rests on shaped feet square in shape. The flap writing desks are very practical and elegant desk models, which have always been widely used and are still highly sought after today.
