Table attributable to the workshop of Giuseppe Colombo known as il Mortarino. Four elegantly turned and tapered walnut legs support a high band with a drawer, subtended by small shelves with an inlaid rosette; the entire surface is veneered in walnut and embellished with bois de rose threads with boxwood inlays; on the quartered walnut surface, a rosette with a panoply of musical instruments and sheet music is inlaid. A secret spring behind the drawer unlocks the catch, allowing the top to rotate and open; in the center of the double top is another inlaid rosette with military panoply. Fir interiors, the piece bears an old label from the antiquarian "A.G.G. Subert." The color of the woods, the type of threads, and the panoplies so elegantly worked with burin embroideries present close assonances with the two chests of drawers in Palazzo d'Arcò and with the drop-front desk bearing the Barbiano di Belgioioso coat of arms. Product Condition: Furniture in very good condition that may show slight traces of wear; it may have undergone restoration work carried out by an expert. We try to present the actual state of the furniture in the most complete way possible with photos. If some details are not clear from the photos, the description applies.
