Important Venetian mirror from the Louis Philippe period (mid-19th century), characterized by a sinuous frame richly decorated in gilded water-based pastiglia. The work is distinguished by its generous dimensions (143 x 101 cm) and by the presence of a very wide frame band, up to 21 cm at its widest point, which contributes to the overall grandeur. The reflecting part, relatively more contained (101 x 61 cm), consists of an antique silvered mirror, consistent with the period, which retains all its original charm. The frame is embellished with rich ornamentation with vegetal motifs and angular volutes, with chasing on the friezes that follows the peripheral course, creating a refined contrast between the glossy surfaces and the satin parts. The original gilding shows normal signs of aging: small cracks, slight wear, and attenuation of the gold that reveal the redness of the underlying bole. All elements that testify to the lived experience and the full authenticity of the object. A mirror with a great scenic and decorative impact, suitable for both classic contexts and prestigious contemporary interiors. Total dimensions: height 143 cm, width 101 cm Mirror light: 101 x 61 cm For further information, high-resolution photographs or technical details, please do not hesitate to contact us.
