Louis Philippe mirror in gilded pastille with gold leaf, mid-19th century
Elegant Louis Philippe mirror in gilded pastille with gold leaf, datable to the mid-19th century. The frame, rectangular in shape with rounded corners, features refined engraved and chased decoration with stylized foliage and bunches of grapes, which enliven the gilded surface with a delicate interplay of light and shadow. The central crest, entirely modeled in pastille, is adorned with volutes and acanthus leaves arranged symmetrically around a central shell motif, according to the typical taste of the Louis Philippe period. The gilding, original, retains a warm and uniform patina, with minimal wear and slight retouching compatible with age. The mirror appears to be coeval, with slightly oxidized silvering that gives depth and softness to the reflection. Dimensions: 150 × 84 cm.
