Small gilded wooden oval mirror with bow – Italy, late 18th / early 19th century Elegant oval frame in carved and gilded wood, surmounted by a refined ribbon bow and enriched laterally by sculpted laurel branches. The workmanship features the characteristic pearl and groove motifs typical of the neoclassical style. The leaf gilding, partly worn by time, gives the surface a fascinating lived-in effect. The original mercury glass shows signs of oxidation and blooms, a testament to its antiquity. The back retains its authentic patina, with traces of the old fixture.
