Italian secretaire in walnut and burr walnut

Cabinet with drawers, some visible, others secret,
equipped with a flip-up hatch that serves as a desk,
born for bourgeois bedrooms and
useful for organizing, storing and hiding
small valuables as well as correspondence.
The internal chest of drawers is equipped with seven drawers
with light birch briar front and ivory knobs,
three open compartments and a small checkerboard top
that hides the vain secrets underneath.
An additional secret drawer is located behind
to the central compartment divided into three spaces.
The front of the cabinet is decorated with burr walnut
used in mirrored sheets to create one large flame pattern
on all drawers, crosspieces and flap.
The upper surface has a double half-round edge.
The arched feet end at the sides in curls
Four large drawers, one at the top and three at the bottom
with working locks and keys.
Restored and shellac polished internally and externally.
The maximum size with the flap down is 98 cm
