INLAID TOILETTE - EMILIA - LOUIS XVI
Elegant Louis XVI Toilette in Rosewood and Various Woods
This refined toilette, typical of the Louis XVI period (late 18th century), embodies the elegance and functionality characteristic of the time. Made of fine rosewood and walnut, it features exceptional craftsmanship and rich inlaid decoration.
Features:
Opening Top: The top of the furniture is composed of three inlaid panels. The two side panels open like leaves, revealing storage compartments ideal for cosmetics and accessories.
The central panel can also be opened.
The surface of the top is embellished with a herringbone or "diamond" pattern obtained by orienting the wood grain, framed by geometric threads.
Elaborate Inlays: The entire surface of the furniture, including the sides, front and back is decorated with rosewood threads.
Shaped Front with Drawers: The front of the furniture has an elegant shape with lateral indentations, which curve inward creating a central opening typical of the toilettes to allow the chair to approach.
Three drawers, also inlaid with the same herringbone pattern and threads, are skillfully integrated into the structure: one central, larger, and two side ones of smaller dimensions.
The drawers are equipped with circular handles in gilded bronze.
Tapered Legs: The toilette rests on four truncated pyramid legs, slightly tapered, which give the furniture a slender and light appearance, in line with the Louis XVI style.
Materials: Rosewood and walnut woods.
Style: Louis XVI, recognizable for the geometric shapes, the lightness of the structures, the use of threads and the predilection for straight and soft curved lines.
Conditions: The furniture is in good general condition, restored and polished with shellac finish.
Emilian area of the late 18th century.
