Shaped wooden and walnut burl trumeau. Lombardy, 18th century
Description
The furniture features curved and moving lines, typical of the late Baroque style, with a strong emphasis on the scenography and dynamism of the shapes. Made of walnut burl, with inlay work and evident ebonized threads, a common technique in Lombardy in the 18th century. The upper part is a two-door display cabinet, with original mercury mirrors, and a strongly shaped hat. The lower part consists of a central flap, with an internal writing desk, and drawers below that are curved on the front. Sides of remarkable concave forging. The whole rests on shaped truncated pyramid supports.
