800 silver coffee pot, neoclassical style, Italy, 20th century
Elegant 800 silver coffee pot, of Italian manufacture, likely datable to the first half of the twentieth century. The work is hallmarked with the title "800" and a second shield-shaped mark that is difficult to identify. Made in neoclassical style, it has a slender and symmetrical shape: the ovoid body rests on a circular foot decorated with gadroons, while the lid is surmounted by a small pinecone element. The handle, in ebonized wood, is elegantly curved and well insulated. The spout, molded in the shape of a raptor's head, is minutely chiseled and has a great impact. The dimensions are: height 17 cm, width 19 cm (from handle to spout), depth 9 cm. Total weight: 230 g. The state of conservation is on the whole good, but there is a deformation in the lower part of the body, caused by an impact, which has slightly bent the base. The silver retains a beautiful patina consistent with its age.
