Description George III sterling silver coffee pot, William Cripps, London, 1762. Of baluster shape on a domed circular foot, with a shell-capped volute spout, opposite a C-scroll wooden handle, attached to shell and scroll decorated sockets. The hinged, double-domed lid is surmounted by an artichoke finial. The body features a contemporary embossed decoration with floral bouquets and foliate scrolls. An escutcheon is engraved on one side. Sterling silver marked with 4 hallmarks: Maker's mark: William Cripps Lion passant: alloy mark.
