The teapot rests on an enlarged circular foot decorated with a lobed band. The lid is surrounded by a raised frame decorated with an egg-and-dart frieze and ends with a lathe-turned horn handle. The handle is attached to the main body with a highly detailed upper section shaped like a coiled snake. The base of the handle features a very unusual molding in the shape of a snake's head, flanked by a fan of feathers. The spout is decorated with a radiant anthemion motif and, at the bottom, with flamboyant acanthus leaves.
