The S-shaped handle terminates in a shield. The shape of this tankard first appeared around 1640 and it is unusual to find one dating from this turbulent and ancient period. Very charming, with hand-hammered silver, the tankard shows great character; an interesting detail is the pointed front of the lid. A shield is engraved on the front.
