George III sterling silver tankard, Peter & Ann Bateman, London, 1791.
An exceptional example of a silver tankard from the George III period, made by the renowned Georgian silversmiths Peter and Anne Bateman, son and daughter-in-law of Hester, who continued the business after her death. The body is cylindrical in shape with a decorative band and a flared base. The domed lid is embellished with an elegant pierced finial with scrolls and hearts, while the hollow handle has a traditional heart-shaped terminal.

Condition
Slight signs of wear and tear and surface scratches. The five hallmarks are present on the side of the tankard body. While at the base of the lid we have: manufacturer's logo, lion passant, leopard's head with crown, date letter year.
