This Empire centerpiece, made in France in the early 19th century, consists of a large cut crystal vase resting on a cylindrical shaped riser with concave walls and a square base in gilded and chiseled bronze. The base has four feet with feral paws in chiseled and gilded bronze. The vase and base are two separable elements, joined by a gilded bronze ring. The crystal has a refined and very elegant workmanship, and the numerous geometric facets contribute, together with the brightness of the gold, to give brilliance and luminosity to the artifact.
Highly decorative, it can be used as a flower vase, as a centerpiece, or it can be placed on a chest of drawers, a console or a table, both next to antique furniture and contemporary furniture.
